As the story goes, One-Armed Reid, thought by many as the first to stake a claim near Fairview, above Oliver, BC. figured it might be his last chance to make it big time.
One-Armed Reid’s Last Chance is a unique blend of barrel-aged Merlot, old-vine, small lot Zinfandel and Chancellor created to honor his go-get-‘em spirit and tenacity.
We expect he’d have danced a jig to share its boldness of character earthiness, and tobacco- saddle leather overtones with his hard-living cronies at the Big TeePee. “Give me a Last Chance with a jus-kilt roasted Muley, or a damn good steak from one of them critters that was cowboyed up here through Osoyoos!” he might’ve said.
And since there’s not much Zinfandel or Chancellor to go around these days, this could well be your last chance to enjoy a glass of local history from our earliest vines.
Rustico (rus.tic) “simplicity and charm considered typical of the countryside • a rustic country setting, country, pastoral • architecture with rough-hewn or roughened surface, deeply sunk joints”
Toasting the ranching, mining and farming history of Oliver and Osoyoos in the South Okanagan, Rustico Farm & Cellars is ideally located on a southwest corner of the famous Golden Mile Bench. Our old-vines (many 45+ yrs.) enjoy a premier text-book terroir allowing for the creation of a most unique boutique winery portfolio.
Come visit and enjoy Rustico’s heritage sod-roofed, hand-hewn log farmhouse and share the ambience of our antique-filled, old-barn-like tasting room, picnic and shaded gardens offering sweeping vistas over hundreds of acres of neighboring vineyards. Some say we’re Canada’s most romantic winery!
And yes… every drop is 100% pure Canadian wine from the South Okanagan.
